This Friday, May 2 – STREB!

Welcome back from Spring Break, MultiTRaC! We have a knockout performance coming up this Friday – STREB, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This should be a white-knuckle experience. According to the website, Elizabeth Streb's choreography intertwines “dance, athletics, boxing, rodeo, the circus, and Hollywood stunt work. The result is a bristling, muscle-and-motion vocabulary that combines daring with strict precision in pursuit of the public display of ‘pure movement.’”

Here's the 411:
What: STREB Slam Show 11
When: Friday, May 2, at 7pm (meet there at 6:45)
Where: S.L.A.M., 51 North First Street (between Wythe and Kent avenues), Williamsburg, Brooklyn, 11211.
Directions: Take the L train to Bedford Ave. Get out of the train at Bedford and 7th Street. Walk six short blocks west to North 1st Street. Turn right and walk two and a half blocks to the theater.
Contact numbers: theater, 718-384-6491. Me: 718-812-8940.

Check out this and other of Maria's photographs below

Isn't this an amazing shot? Maria took it at the rehearsal of the Gallim Dance Group we attended last Wednesday. Scroll down for others....

I love this one. Eric Shapiro might appreciate the "UO" T-shirt -- I believe it stands for Urge Overkill, a seminal 1990s alternative rock band.

Another great shot by Maria

This is Paul Lieberman, who later made a piccolo make sounds I never dreamed of.

Isn't this one so great?! Go, Maria!

Here's one of Arturo O'Farrill, looking sharp!
